Pure Joy Wellness Approved - Jetti Poles
/This month’s #PureJoyWellnessApproved product is an ode to all my current and future Pure Joy Wellness Walking Warriors! I recently became acquainted with Joyce Shulman, a fellow walking lover and founder of 99 Walks, and was introduced to her creation, Jetti Poles. After trying them, I can say without a doubt I’m hooked. If you’re looking to take your walks to the next level and/or make them much more enjoyable, keep reading!
To give you a little background, like me, Joyce has been a lifelong walker. Ever since she was a teen, walking has been a critical tool in her mental and emotional health toolkit—it was and has been her go-to whenever she needs a mood boost. She and her husband Eric have been entrepreneurs for two decades, and their most recent creation, Jetti Poles, launched in December 2021. Here’s why I’m loving them and know you will, too.
Why I Love Jetti Poles
They make walking easier and more effective as a workout
Jetti Poles offer a host of benefits to those who use them. First, they turn your walks into full body workouts. How, you ask? Well, Jetti Poles engage more of your muscles than a typical walk—specifically they activate your upper body, core, arms, shoulders, and back. Because of this, they also maximize your calorie burn. According to Joyce, the results of an independent sports performance lab found that people who use Jetti Poles while they walk burn on average 55.6 percent more calories. The best part, though, is that they don’t actually make walking feel harder! Jetti Poles reduce your perceived exertion, meaning you don’t feel like you’re working harder, even though your body is. Talk about a win-win!
They’re versatile
If you’ve read my blog post about creating home gyms and my favorite workout equipment, you know I’m a fan of equipment that serves more than one function. Well, good news: Jetti Poles are super versatile. In addition to using them as a tool for walking, you can use Jetti Poles for dozens of upper and lower body exercises, like squats, curls, overhead presses, and more. You can find a whole library of exercises you can do with Jetti Poles on their website, with instructional videos that show you how to do each one safely. We love a product that does it all.
They’re supportive.
Jetti Poles aren’t designed specifically as a stability device, but numerous users have benefited from the added support they provide on walks and otherwise. I personally have seen that my posture has improved while walking, and if you're someone who needs a little extra support while doing squats, Jetti Poles are the perfect fix.
