A Roundup Of My Favorite Skincare Tools
/I talk about skincare a lot—on the blog, in our private Facebook Group—and recently, I’ve been receiving a lot of questions about it! Specifically, what tools can women over 50 use to preserve and improve the appearance of their skin? Obviously, this is a broad question, because it depends on what your specific skin concern is!
So, to address this question at large, I decided to put together a roundup blog post of a few of my favorite skincare tools, with some info on each. I hope this makes the vast landscape of skincare much easier to navigate—rest assured I’ve used all of these to much success!
The Best Tool For Cleaning Your Face: FOREO LUNA 3 Facial Cleansing Brush (Link here)
The FOREO LUNA is a portable, vibrating tool that thoroughly cleanses and massages your skin, which helps it better absorb your skincare products. If you sweat a lot or deal with acne, enlarged pores, or excess oil, this is a wonderful tool for you. That said, it’s stellar for all skin types—no matter what your issue is, you’re sure to see an improvement after using this.
The Best Tool For Exfoliating: DERMAFLASH LUXE Device (Link here)
If you have a lot of peach fuzz or hormonal facial hair, you’re not alone! Many women who go through menopause deal with both. My favorite tool for exfoliating my skin and removing unwanted hair at the same time is the DERMAFLASH LUXE. After just one use, my skin is softer and brighter, thanks to the LUXE, which removes dead skin cells and peach fuzz. This is a product I’ll keep in my arsenal for life!
The Best Tool For Lifting & Sculpting: Joanna Czech Facial Massager (Link here)
There are a lot of tools out there for lifting and sculpting—the Nu face, a #PureJoyWellnessApproved product, for instance. Many are on the expensive side, though they can be used a zillion times. Right now, my go-to is the Joanna Czech Facial Massager.
This Facial Massager feels amazing on the skin and it’s an easy, effective way to tone, lift, and firm your skin. I love how easy it is to use, and that just a few minutes a day can yield mind-blowing results. If you’re a self-care lover, this tool is for you.
The Best Tools For Wrinkles: Dr. Dennis Gross DRx SpectraLite Dpl FaceWare Pro (Link here) and SolaWave Wand (Link here)
There are so many tools that I love for wrinkles, but my top two are the Dr. Dennis Gross DRx SpectraLite Dpl FaceWare Pro and the SolaWave Wand.
The Dr. Dennis Gross DRx SpectraLite Dpl FaceWare Pro is amazing because it only takes three minutes a day, and it utilizes both red light and blue light. That means it works on a number of issues, including wrinkles, acne flare ups, redness, and more. I love that it’s a passive tool, meaning I get to relax on the couch while it’s on and just zen out. Plus, it can be used an endless amount of times, versus a single use item.
For a more cost effective option, try the SolaWave Wand. It was a #PureJoyWellnessApproved product earlier this year I wrote a full review of it, which you can read her
The Best Tool For Puffiness & Inflammation: Gua Sha Stone (Link here)
I have a blog post about Gua Sha—what it is, the benefits of it, how to use it, etc.—which you can find here! It’s a fantastic tool for puffiness, inflammation, and minimizing aging signs. My favorite trick is to keep mine in the fridge, so it’s nice and cold, and then I use it with my favorite serum or lotion.
Honorable Mentions: All of the products below!
